We are now just a couple of days away from the 2026 aQuellé Tour Durban in association with Cycle Lab and it is time for the last-minute preparation – like submitting an entry for those who are a bit slow off the mark with their admin.
This newsletter contains information about the day's schedule, links to route maps and some links to videos for people who are still not sure about the new format. Remember there is loads of information on the website and more details.
Entries close on Entry Ninja on Wednesday, after which late entries will be taken at registration on Friday and Saturday at Cycle Lab in Cornubia (all late entries at registration will have an additional admin fee).
For those that have not seen the news about the new format, this is the quick overview of the schedule of events and pre-entry fees (and watch the explainer video):
Registration (no registration & collection of Goodie Bags on Sunday)
REGISTRATION 1: Friday
9.00am to 5.00pm – Cycle Lab, Cornubia
REGISTRATION 2: Saturday
9.00am to 3.00pm – Cycle Lab, Cornubia
KZN Cycling Schools Road Series Final
6.00am: R300 entry fee – 42km loop

Recreational Ride
6.30am: R300 entry fee – An untimed "open" event where riders can ride the route as many times as they want, starting when they want. Course open from 6.30am to 10.30am.
42km Timed Recreation Ride
6.30am: – R350 entry fee – Similar to the above but this entry includes timing for a 42km lap. Entrants may carry on riding the route after the timed loop if they desire.
84km Timed Recreation Ride
6.30am: R350 entry fee – The entry includes timing for a two-lap circuit. Entrants may carry on riding the route after the timed loop if they desire.

Invitation Race & CSA National Inter-Club Challenge
10.30am: – R675 entry fee – 100km on a lapped route starting at 10.30am. Entry includes timing by Finish Time.

The entry fee of between R300 or R350 for the recreational elements is arguably the best value-for-money event around. For the low entry fee, all riders will receive a goodie bag at registration including souvenir quality cycling socks, items from aQuellé, a R150 shopping voucher from Cycle Lab and a service upgrade voucher from Cycle Lab valued at approximately R500, as well as some beauty and grooming products courtesy of Domino.
What You Get Video Explainer
All participants will receive a newly designed metal medal and drinks at the finish village, as well as all the traditional elements that go into a premier event including full road closure, refreshment stations, mechanical and medical support if needed and willing and happy volunteers on the route to assist. |
