  • Strictly limited numbers
  • This event will be strictly by invitation only.
  • Club and professional teams will be invited to enter teams for the team championship events, and individuals from the 96km entrants who apply to be invited via will be considered for the individual race.
  • Individual applications will only be considered from 96km entrants who have requested an invitation before 31st March (requests via entry system on Entry Ninja).
  • The longest road race, predominantly on the M4 north of Durban.
  • With full road closure at all times, riders will start with the first of the two 26km loops on the M4 and M41, followed by four short 12km loops on the M4.
  • This route has been designed to be spectator friendly and to promote exciting racing.

Full Route Description

Lap 1 (26km)

  • Starting outside the Moses Mabhida Stadium Peoples Park on Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) northbound.

  • Turn right up on Isaiah Ntshangase Road (at Durban Country Club)

  • Turn left up on Ruth First M4 northbound & continue northbound.

  • Turn left up on Ruth First M4 northbound & continue northbound, passing Durban North, Virginia, Glenashley and La Lucia until reaching M41 offramp

  • Take the M41 offramp and proceed up the hill to Ridgeside Road

  • Make a right turn into Ridgeside Road under the bridge and then another right turn onto the M41 heading in the direction of the M4

  • Make the 180-degree circle turn at the end of the M41 onto the M4 heading in a southerly direction

  • Travel along M4 towards Durban

  • Turn right at Sandile Thusi (Argyle Road – contraflow) and proceed to the NMR offramp

  • Turn right on south bound offramp of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue contraflow to pass through the start & finish line

Lap 2 (26km)

  • Same as lap 1

Laps 3, 4, 5 & 6 (12km each – 48km in total)

    • Travel along on Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) northbound.

    • Turn right up on Isaiah Ntshangase Road (at Durban Country Club)

    • Turn left up on Ruth First M4 northbound & continue northbound.

    • Take Swapo Road turnoff from M4

    • Turn right at top of offramp and cross over M4

    • Turn right onto onramp to join M4 southbound

    • Turn right at Sandile Thusi (Argyle Road – contraflow) and proceed to the NMR offramp

    • Turn right on south bound offramp of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue contraflow to pass through the start & finish line
